Factors related to suspected delayed development of early childhood at risk
Abstract
Background: Early childhood at risk is low birth weight or birth asphyxia newborn, which are important causes of delayed development. Early screening development of early childhood at risk help to early detect problem leading to appropriate promoting.
Objective: To study of factors related to suspected delayed development of early childhood at risk at well child clinic, Sungmen hospital, Phrae.
Study design:This descriptive retrospective research was to study the factors related to suspected delayed development of early childhood at risk. The samples were 102 suspected delayed development children received screening services at well child clinic, Sungmen hospital, Phrae. The data was collected during January, 1, 2014 to December, 31, 2019. The research tools were data record form that used in well child clinic, hospital medical record system and child development record program. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage and Chi-square test.
Results: The research results found that the mostly suspected delayed development aspect was gross motor which account for 47.06%. Early childhood at risk suspected delayed development more than one side 17.65%. Breastfeeding and storytelling were had statistically significant correlation with overall suspected delayed developmental at 0.05 level.
Conclusions: These findings could be a significant guide for promoting the benefits of breastfeeding in the first 6 months and storytelling in family.
