The study of the level of knowledge, perception and control operating behavior Prevention of dengue fever of health volunteers in Pa Sang District, Lamphun Province
Abstract
Background: Situation of dengue fever spread continues every year. Important control operation is having people and all sectors involve into the disease prevention and control.
Objective: To study knowledge level, perception and operation behavior of dengue fever prevention and control and relationship between personal factors and knowledge level, perception of dengue fever and operation behavior of dengue fever prevention and control of Village Health Volunteers (VHV).
Study design: The samples of this study consisted of 315 persons who were Village Health Volunteers (VHV). Data collection was conducted from October 2019 to September 2020 using a questionnaire focusing on a study of knowledge level, perception and operation behavior of dengue fever prevention and control. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Relationship between personal factors and behavior of dengue fever prevention data was analyzed with Spearman Correlation.
Results: It was found that average monthly income had a positive moderate relationship with knowledge level of Dengue fever of VHV (r=0.130) and frequency of VHV health and public health knowledge restoration received training had a negative moderate relationship with knowledge level of Dengue fever of VHV (r=0.122)
Conclusions: Potential development of VHV on knowledge, perception and operation behavior of dengue fever prevention to the point where they resulted in continuous increased skills and proficiency would make them be able to pass on the knowledge to people well. Therefore, dengue fever could be controlled efficiently.
