The Development of Intermediate Care Database System for Elderly with Hip Fracture Surgery

Abstract

Background:  The development care for elderly with hip fracture surgery contributed to transferred the patient information from tertiary care hospitals to primary care levels. A complete, convenient and fast information system will enable patients to receive continuous care in a timely manner and providers receive complete information for the benefit of continuing care. Therefore, the development of a database system for intermediate care for elderly with hip fractures surgery patients is necessary.

Objectives:  To develop a database system for monitoring services for intermediate care in elderly patients with hip fractures surgery to be accurate, complete and able to analyze data quickly and to assess the satisfaction of the database system for monitoring services for intermediate care in elderly patients with hip fractures surgery.

Study design: This study was development research. Study in Phrae province in April 2021 to March 2022. The sample selected 3 specific groups, namely 34 people of the need assessment of elderly with hip fracture database system group, 4 people of database system developers and 36 people of users group. Data were analyzed by classification, narrative summary and descriptive statistics.

Results:   It was found that 1) the database system for monitoring services for intermediate care in the elderly with hip fractures surgery was developed as a web application. ER diagram model used for analyzed and designed. The Postgraduate SQL database program and Visual Studio Code program used for design web application. The computer server set at Phrae Hospital. The database system is ready to use, report accurate, complete, able to analyze data quickly and respond to the needs of users. 2) Users are satisfied with the database system at a high level.

Conclusion:  The database system can monitor the services of intermediate care in the elderly with hip fractures surgery. The information in the program was accurate, complete, data can be analyzed quickly and users are satisfied. Therefore, the database system should be used continuously and expand to use with other groups of patients.
