Abstract

Background:  Diabetes is top of non communicable disease that makes problem to world and national public health. Nowadays Thailand has diabetics increasingly, especially type 2 diabetes. The medical treatment isn’t the only one treatment, behavioral control is the one factor that effect to glycemic control. From the information of diabetics from Banklang Sub District, Maung District, Pathumthani Province between 2558 BE- 2560 BE found diabetics cannot control the glycemic. The study of self-health behaviors of diabetic patients. To be use as a guideline in planning and developing self-care model of diabetic patients. Lead to the prevention of complications of patients.

Objective: This research was Descriptive Research to analyze factors affecting self-care behaviors of type 2 diabetic patients. Ban Klang Sub District, Maung District, Pathumthani province. To study behaviors affecting self-health behaviors of type 2  diabetic patients.   Analyzes of Factors  Affecting Self-Care Behaviors of Type 2 Diabetes Patients, Tambon Ban Klang,  Amphoe Mueang, Pathum Thani Pathumthani 

Study Design: This research was Descriptive Research to analyze factors affecting self-care behaviors of type 2 diabetic patients. Ban Klang Sub District, Maung District, Pathumthani province. Applied health theory PRECEDE – PROCEED Model. The sample Patients with Type 2 Diabetes were 277 people. Research instrument was questionnaire with IOC at 0.80, discriminative power at0.7, Difficulty at 0.6, and reliability at 0.92. Results were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis.   

Results: Results of the sample had self-health promoting behaviorsin practice, often.  (Mean = 116.74, S.D=11.71).  Being prompted by family members,  Access to health services, Income, and receiving advice from public health personnel affective health promoting behaviors of patients with type 2 diabetes were 15.40%. Statistically significant at .01. (R2= 0.154, F= 12.424,  p - value < .01)

Conclusions: Factors to be prompted by family members. Access to health services, income, and advice  from public health personnel. There is a tendency for health promoting behaviors of type 2 diabetic patients to increase.
