Abstract

Background:  Septic shock is a common emergency and is a major cause of death

Objective: To development of nursing practice guidelines and the results of the development of nursing practice guidelines for septic shock patient in intensive care unit 2, Lamphun hospital.

Study design:  The sample consisted of 19 nurses in the intensive care unit 2 at Lamphun hospital and septic shock patient admitted at the intensive care unit 2, Lamphun hospital or relativebetween 1 May to 31 July 2018, 50 people. The tools used in conducting research are nursing practice guidelines. And the severity assessment form. The tools used for data collection were nursing practice guidelines for septic shock patient. Analyze qualitative data with content analysis and quantitative data analysis with descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, range, mean, standard deviation and median.

Results: The development of nursing practices is an activity that is designed as a step based on CURN's concept, together with a systematic concept of guiding the care of patients with shock from bloodstream infections obtained from empirical evidence. It consists of 4 stepsinclude:1) Identification of patient nursing problems 2) The review process for the development of the operating system for patients with shock due to sepsis And 4) evaluating results. In the results of the development of nursing practice guidelines for septic shock patientshowed that: nurses working in the intensive care unit 2, Lamphun Hospital are able to carry out nursing care for patients with shock due to infection in the bloodstream every time. Nurses can practice nursing practice guidelines for septic shock patient every time. Were satisfied with the implementation of the guidelines at the highest level. And the process-oriented results showed that: The average length of time the nurse finds the average patient is 0.20 hours, time to send the culture average at 0.39 hours and duration of receiving antibiotics average at 0.65 hours.

Conclusions: Development of nursing practice guidelines for septic shock patienttherefore is a guideline fornurses that can be used as a guideline for nursing practice guidelines for septic shock patientnot causing complications and have a better quality of life.
