Factors Relationship Between Health Literacy and Personal Factors with Health Behavior Among Risk Group with Hypertension in Talad Sub-district, Muang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

This study is a cross-sectional study and aimed to study the relationship of the factors between health literacy and personal factors with health behavior among risk groups with hypertension in Talad sub-district, Muang district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The samples were 300 students. Data were collected by questionnaires. Descriptive data were analyzed by descriptive statistics such as frequency percentage mean and standard deviation, Chi-square test, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient. The results showed that the majority was 65.25 % female and 35.75 % man, the average age was 46.70 %, body mass index was 39.21 kg/m2, the marital status was 49.57%, the education was lower than primary level was 51.45 %, Non-agricultural occupation (trade, hire) was 48.7 %, the average income was 9,015.24 baht. The sample group had a high level of health intelligence 43.65%. The aspect with a high level of health intelligence was decision-making and cognition, 76.23% and 64.27%, respectively. The moderate level was media literacy. access to information and information communication 45.91%, 39.31%, and 37.33% respectively. The low level consisted of self-management 36.37%, and 66.18% of health behaviors were at a moderate level. Factors related between health literacy with health behavior among risk group with Health Self-Management, Health Media Literacy, Health Information Communication, Health Decision Making and access to health information had a positive relationship with health behavior among risk group hypertension with statistical significance (r = .439, .423, .221, .168, .176 และ P-value < .05).
