Effects of Using Caring Model for Patients with Asthma by Multidisciplinary Team in Khao Kho Hospital - ผลของการใช้รูปแบบการดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคหอบหืด ทีมสหสาขาวิชาชีพ โรงพยาบาลเขาค้อ

Abstract

Aquasi-experiment study two group pre-post test design had demonstrated the effectiveness of asthmatic management interventions which created by at multidisciplinary team. at Khao Kho hospital, Changwat Petchabun from January 2008 to April 2009. It was divided into 2 phases, a descriptive study and evaluation of the model Participants in the first phase were 8 health providers and 13 asthmatic patients. In the second phase, 60 patients were in-depth interviewed and data analyzed were by content analysis. They subsequently were randomized into an intervention group and a control group (n=30:30). The intervention was based on Gibson's theory and implemented for a duration of 6 weeks covering situational study, reflection, make a decisions and sustainable of actions. After 12 months, an evaluation was made focusing on health controlling behavior, readmission rate and health expenditure. Improvements could be observed in the intervention group confirming more effective health controlling behavior and lower re-admission rate relative to the control group (p< 0.05).
