Discriminant Analysis of Hospital Accreditation by Personal Characteristics on the Community Hospital in Udon Thani Province

Abstract

         The objective of this research was to analyze personal characteristics (characteristics, locus of control, organizational commitment, self development, attitude of hospital accreditation, and perception of hospital accreditation effectiveness) which could discriminate the hospital accreditation. The qestionnaires were designed for collecting data from 341 officials of the community hospitals in Udon Thani Province. Data were analyzed by a statistical package program. Statistic methods used in this study were percentage, mean, standard deviation and discriminant analysis with stepwise method.

      The study revealed that the 2 variables which could discriminate the category of hospital accreditation,those of the variables were: perception of hospital accreditation effectiveness and organizational commitment. The equation could  correctly differentiate officers of community hospitals in both groups correctly at 67.2 percent.
