Evaluation of Enforcement Measures Policy to Control Alcohol Accessibility in Uttaradit Province

This descriptive research aimed to evaluation of enforcement measures policy to control alcohol accessibility in Uttaradit Province. The study samples were 1,100 youth (aged 15 – 19 years). Data were collected by questionnaires during June – December 2016; and were analyzed by descriptive statistics, percentage, mean, standard deviation. The research found that young people are used to purchase alcoholic beverages in the last 3 months were 68.2%, used to buy but the seller was not sell to them was 25.2%. The sample purchased from the store beverages 93.8%, and grocery stores 90.7%. During the restricted time (12.00 – 11.00 am., and 2.00 – 5.00 pm.), the sample can purchase alcohol was 38.4%, which 64.2% of their sample were less than 20 years old. The perception about regulatory and enforcement measures policy to control alcohol accessibility of youth were in high level such as restriction’s rules, restriction’s time, restriction’s places, restriction’s advertisement, and restriction’s customers. Based on these finding, government and related organization should put more effort to ensure stringent enforcement on the related laws and may also extend to prohibit purchasing at place and time for better promoted and the regulations should be more strictly enforced.
