Prevention and Control of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever via Vector Control in and within 20 Meters Vicinity of Patient’s House - การควบคุมการระบาดของโรคไข้เลือดออกโดยการ ควบคุมยุงลายทีบ้านผู้ป่วยและรอบบ้านผู้ป่วย ในรัศมี 20 เมตร ในจังหวัดราชบุรี

Abstract

              This research aimed to study the control of dengue fever via the control of dengue vector in the index case’s houses and 20 meters around the index case’ houses in Photharam District and Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi Province during January – December 2014. The descriptive method was used for this research. The research populations were the dengue fever patients in Photharam District and Ban Pong District. The sample groups were selected from 3-4 villages in each sub-district with the highest rate of illness as follows: Moo 3, Moo 8, and Moo 10 in Nong Pho Sub-district and Moo 4, Moo 7, and Moo 8 in Don Sai Sub-district, Photharam District, Moo 6, Moo 9, Moo 10, and Moo 11 in Berk Phrai Subdistrict and Moo 2, Moo 3, and Moo 4 in Lard Bua Khao Sub-district in Ban Pong District. The research tool was E1 Form which was Dengue Vector and Mosquito Larva Eliminating Activities Evaluation Form. Data were analyzed by using frequency of disease and percentage of morbidity rate and mortality rate. According to the mosquito larva and dengue vector controlling activity evaluated by the provincial SRRT officials surveying on the seventh day after finding the patients, the mosquito larva and dengue vector were not found in the index case’s houses and 20 meters around the index case’s houses.
