Abstract

Nakhon Ratchasima Province has developed a Village Health Data List since 1989 in order to Form a data collection system on individual and families in each village. This system displayed the coverage of basic health services each individual should have received as health status within each household.

It was found that the system was very useful for health personnel to assess the coverage of health promotion and disease prevention programmes in their responsible areas. IT also facilitated the planning implementation and evaluation of the health programmes.

According to a survey performed at the end of the third year of implementation, the majority of public health administrators and service provides satisfied with the system and desuired to continue using the system, but with some modification

Thus, the system should be more widely applied for supporting health promotion and disease prevention programmes in the country.
