Abstract

This descriptive research was conducted to study health literacy and health behaviors based on local wisdom of nursing students, borommarajonani college of nursing nopparat vajira, compare the health literacy scores and health behaviors (eating – exercise – emotion) scores based on local wisdom of nursing students in different of academic year, and to study the relationship between the health literacy scores and health behaviors scores based on local wisdom of nursing students.The sample included 272 nursing students of boromarajonani college of nursing nopparat vajira. The research tools consisted of personal information questionnaires, the health literacy questionnaire and health behaviors based on local wisdom questionnaire. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistic, the one way ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Results were as follows: (1) The 1st and 4th year nursing students had the average scores of health literacy as a whole at medium level, while the 2nd and 3rd year nursing students had the average scores of health literacy as a whole at high level. The health literacy scores of nursing student with different academic year differed significantly (F(3, 268)=4.11, p=0.007). The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years nursing students had the average scores of health behaviors as a whole at medium level. There were not significant difference in the health behaviors scores of nursing student with different academic year (F(3, 268)=0.34, p=0.796). (2) The health literacy scores and health behaviors scores based on local wisdom of nursing students were significantly positive correlation (r =0.121, p=0.046).
