Evaluation of the Project on Development of Excellent Center in Health Technology of Colleges under the Jurisdiction of Praboromarajchanok Institute for Health Workforce Development

This mixed method research aimed to systematically evaluate projects on development of excellent centers (ECs) in terms of context, input, process, output and impact. The samples were personnel involved in the operation of the ECs of 35colleges under the Jurisdiction of Praboromarajchanok Institute. Research instruments included (1) self-administered questionnaire to assess the implementation towards the project according to the CIPP model, and (2) guiding questions for in depth interview. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results revealed that 1) Context: principles, objectives and goals of the ECs well served Praboromarajchanok Institute’s strategic plan. The establishment of the ECs was in accordance with guidelines. 2) Inputs: staff were specialists and voluntary teachers; the structures of the ECs were articulately concrete with external network; material was supported by internal and external institutes; sufficient money was supported by the community, college and Praboromarajchanok Institute. 3) Process: process included (a) preparation, (b) plan, (c) do, and (d) monitor and evaluation. The achievement of the ECs was driven by the administrators of the colleges, reporting results of opera-tions and using the results of evaluation to improve EC.4) Output: the improvement of and increased numbers of personnel, academic papers/ research, academic service/ technology transfer/ teaching, ref-erence center, academic network, national advocacy, professional leadership center.5)Impact: personnel and students applied the knowledge and experience gained from ECfor developing community nearby colleges, increased health-conscious, having organization commitment and the colleges were recognized by external agencies.
