Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases are important causes of death and illness in Thai people. Programs to increase health literacy will support prevention and promotion to reduce the risk of the diseases. The purposes of this cross-sectional research were to (1) study the relationships between the personal factors and cardiovascular protective behaviors, and (2) study the relationships between knowledge, believe and cardiovascular protective behaviors of personal in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University. The subjects were 235 personal in the University. The study was conducted from December 2017 - March 2018. Data were collected by using questionnaire on knowledge, believe and cardiovascular protective behaviors with IOC=0.67, and the reliability levels of Cronbach alpha coefficient were 0.75, 0.82 and 0.85 in part 2 part3 and part 4, respectively. Percentage, mean, standard deviation and Chi- square were used for statistical analysis. The results showed that most of the subjects were 41-50 years old, married, primary school to senior high school graduates. Waist circumference less than 80 cm., weight 51-60 kg, systolic pressure 121-130 mmHg., diastolic pressure 81-90 mmHg., standard body mass index and did not have medical problem. There were significant relationship between age and cardiovascular protective behaviors (p<0.05).
