Abstract

The system development of comprehensive tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS care is a guideline in quality service development of HIV/AIDS with TB and TB with HIV/AIDS. In total, the objectives were treatment monitoring and care system development of HIV/AIDS with TB and TB with HIV/ AIDS. The sample size was 25 HIV/AIDS patients in total, who received medical service at anonymous clinic, Dokkhamtai hospital, Phayao province, from October, 2004 to September, 2005. During the study 6 patients died, so the sample size was reduced to 19. It was reported that the Karnofsky Score means increased from 70.00 to 94.21. The immune level (CD4) was increased from 82.74 cell/mm3 to 268.95 cell/mm3. All HIV/AIDS patients received TB screening; all TB patients received voluntary counseling and testing, yet only 88.04 percent underwent HIV testing. The conversion rate was 100 percent, with the success rate of 76
percent and death rate of 24 percent. The authors encourages assessment and monitoring on system development of comprehensive tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS care by collaboration as partnership with the community network to find new cases of TB in HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS in TB. That leads the patients to early medical treatment and, as a result, improves their quality of life.
