Abstract

         This cross-sectional survey research was aimed at studying the characteristic factors, health behavior factors and to determine the relationships between health behavior factors to over waist. The sample was composed of 368 health staffers in all hospitals; Suphan Buri Province. Statistics for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, percentage, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and chi-square.

        The results of the study revealed that the characteristic factors that were found significantly related to over waist were; gender (p < 0.01), division (p < 0.01), body mass index (p < 0.01), and income (p < 0.05). The overall of the health behavior factors; risk perception, learning, practical, intention, and motivation of health behavior (food consumption, exercise, stress control, and smoking alcohol abstinence) were at high levels. Each and overall of the health behavior factors were negatively related to the over waist (p < 0.01). There should be a policy on surveillance and supporting developed to change of health behaviors among the risk groups.
