Development of Computerized Program to Produce Certificate of Vaccination for Thai Pilgrimages during Hajj Season - การพัฒนาระบบข้อมูลสารสนเทศ การรับรองการให้บริการวัคซีนผ้เูดินทางไปประกอบพิธีฮัจย์

Abstract

              The purpose of this study was to develop an information system for issuing international certificate of immunization (the yellow book) for the Muslim Thai residents who travel to pilgrimage (the Hajj ceremony) in Saudi Arabia, with the aims to reduce waiting time and to increase efficiency of the program. The existing procedure was performed by hand-writing which was difficult to read, unstandardized and error prone. The new innovation was developed by using online system which produced printed pass book on demand. The program was easily accessible. Tesing of 564 issues of vaccination certificates revealed 100.0% completeness and accuracy. The system was highly satisfied by responsible provincial officials. Travel operators expressed a good level of satisfaction over the procedure (36.00%), duration of service (41.60%) and convenience (37.20%). This vaccination certification system could be linked with vaccination data at provincial, ragional and national levels.
