Some Interesting Data on HIV infected Petients, Sonngkhla Province

Abstract

The STD and AIDS Control Centre Region 12 hasstudied the data of 633 HIV infected patients during the period from 1988 tu june 1992. Many demographic and social characteristics of the patients were analysed. There were 145 cases (22.91%) with concurrent syphilitic infection detected by VDRL test. The VDRL positivity rate among the HIV positive cases was found to be significantly higher than that of 27,418 HIV negative persons of which 1,723 VDRL positive caes (6.28%) were detected.
