Participation of Village Health Volunteers in the Healthy District in Suphanburi Province - การมีส่วนร่วมในโครงการอำเภอสุขภาพดี 80 ปียังแจ๋ว ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน จังหวัดสุพรรณบุรี

Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to study the samples’ level of knowledge in District
Healthy Project, self – care, social support and participation in District Healthy Project of public health
volunteers, (2) to compare participation in District Healthy Project level among age groups, educational
background, occupations, family income, volunteer period and member of care houses, and (3)
to study knowledge in District Healthy Project, self – care and social support as the predictors of
participation in District Healthy Project. Study samples consisted of 390 public health volunteers in
Suphanburi Province, formed by a stratified random sampling technique. Constructed questionnaires
were used to collect data and analyzed by descriptive and analytical statistics. The results were : (1)
The samples’ level of knowledge in District Healthy Project were at the moderate level, self – care,
social support and participation in District Healthy Project of public health volunteers were at the upper
level; (2) Public health volunteers with age groups over 51 years old had participation in District
Healthy Project more than under 31 years old and Public health volunteers with volunteer period 1-7
years had participation in District Healthy Project more than under 1-3 years were significantly difference
at 0.05; and (3) social support, knowledge in District Healthy Project and self – care can predict
the samples’ participation in District Healthy Project of public health volunteers for the operation in
mother and child groups, teenager groups, working age groups, and elderly groups at 30.9 % with a
statistical significant level of 0.01.
