บทคัดย่อ

Hydroview calcification is a condition that Hydrophilic acrylic IOL shows opacity after implantation in a cataract operation.  It was caused by calcium phosphate deposit at the surface of IOL. The report showed a Chinese woman, 82 years old, had underwent cataract extractions in both eyes 9 years old, and developed blurred vision on left eye after 8 years.  The diagnosis was IOL opacification and then she received an IOL exchange.  The result of the operation was good.  Hydroview was a globally popular foldable IOL.  There were reports about opacified IOL from many places, the study showed that silicone compound from the surefold packaging gasket migrated onto the lens surface, then the compound might act as a catalyst for the nucleation of calcium ions onto the surface of the lens.
