This descriptive study aimed to assess incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in teenage pregnancies compared to 20-34 years pregnancies who delivered at Huaiyot hospital, Trang Province from October 2012 to September 2013. Obstetric history (number of pregnancies, number of labors, number of abortion, history of antenatal care, etc.) and pregnancy complications (hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus, anemia, preterm labor, low birth weight, etc.) were compared. Statistic analysis was undertaken using SPSS version 11.0. Relative risk ratio and 95% confident interval of the complications were calculated and analyzed at a level of significant of p< 0.05. It was found that there were 119 cases of teenage pregnancy (21.0% of all deliveries). Anemia, HIV infection and low birth weight (<2,500 gm) were significant higher in teenage pregnancy. This study indicated that prevention of teenage pregnancy and promoting attendance to antenatal care were still important. Iron supplement and health education might control the problem of anemia, preterm labor and low birth weight.
