Nursing Service Situation of Nursing Department at Nan Hospital - สถานการณ์การบริการพยาบาล กลุ่มการพยาบาล โรงพยาบาลน่าน

บทคัดย่อ

                       This survey research was aimed at studying nursing service situation of nursing department at Nan Hospital during October 2007 - April 2008.  Data collection techniques used were documentary research, brain storming, group discussion and indepth interview.  The samples were 168 of registered nurses and technical nurses from 26 sections.  The instrument was structured interview questionnaire developed by researchers.  The study was consisted of : identifying pratice problems from related reports or documents and brain storming meetings.  Interviewing was conducted by a cross functional nursing administrator team.  Data from the interview and group discussion were analyzed by content analysis.  The result showed the problems of nursing staff were shortage of workforce resulting in an overload and lack of proactive clinical risk assessment.  The nursing staff knowledge about pharmacokinetic as well as caring of high alert drugs was still limited.  The standards of infection surveillances and controls had not been fully practiced among nursing staff.  Proactive plans on preventive measures or specific clinical risks were not set up.  Nursing knowledge had not been applied into their practices.  In conclusion, there was a considerable gap between standard nursing practice and the actual implementation.  Therefore, nursing department should set up a systematic monitoring system to improve nursing service continuously.
