Evaluation Research on Psychiatric Patients Service Development Project for the Public Health Region 10 - การวิจัยประเมินผลโครงการพัฒนา ระบบบริการผู้ป่วยโรคจิตเวชในเขตสุขภาพที 10

บทคัดย่อ

                  Since 2014, the Prasrimahabhodi Psychiatrict Hospital, Department of Mental Health, Ubonratchathani Province, has implemented a development project for psychiatric patients service for the Public Health Region 10 with the aim to improve the system for providing mental health and psychiatric services for psychiatric patients. The objective of this study was to evaluate the success of the project using CIPP Model and covering the factors related to context, input, process, and results; and to study problems and provide suggestions for project improvement. The assessment was performed by physicians who work for general hospital in 5 provinces include Uboratchatani,Srisaket,Yasothon,Amnatcharoen and Mukdaharn provinces. Data were collected from psychiatric patients who were diagnosed with F20 - F29 of the international disease classification. It was found that the project was in line with the regional health service plan policy of Ministry of Public Health. It corresponded with the strategy of the Department of Mental Health in promoting collaboration within psychiatric service network; and followed the vision and mission of Prasrimahabhodi Psychiatric Hospital. For the input factor, there were adequacy of budget, personnel, and place since they had been already alocated by the Mental Health Department. Regarding the process and results, the project supported encouragement of physician in general hospitals to gain more knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illnesses, and gain more confidence in admitting and transferring patients. Most physicians were highly satisfied with the manual of psychotropic drugs. Moreover, the research findings revealed that the psychiatric patients admitted into the system were getting improvement, having better treatment compliance and less relapse.
