Reflection on Lesson Learned from Care of the Abandoned Bedridden Patient with Pressure Ulcer grade 3-4 Complication
Abstract
This qualitative research were to 1) to take lessons learned from the case study of the abandoned bedridden patient with pressure ulcer grade 3-4
complication and 2) to develop the care process guideline for the abandoned bedridden patients with pressure ulcer grade 3-4 complication. The key
information’s were 3 staff of the primary and holistic care department, an infection controlling nurse, 2 nurses of inpatient department, and a family
physician, 3 village health volunteers, the village headman, 3 staff of Huayor Subdistrict Municipality, totally 14 people. The study tool was a
semi-structured interview form. The data collected by focus group discussions and in-depth interviews, data analysis by content and data
synthesis. The results showed that the lesson learned for caring the abandoned bedridden patients with pressure ulcer grade 3-4 complication
was a cooperation community networks and related sectors participating. It was a model case, enabling all relevant sectors to learn how to care for the
abandoned bedridden patients with pressure ulcer grade 3-4 complication. And extracting essential skills of nursing home cares. The care process
guidelines for the abandoned bedridden patients with pressure ulcer grade 3-4 complication were 1) The pre-visit phase used the principle of divide up
the work, prepare the patient, medical ssupplies, home environment and coordination with community networks, by using 4M management
principles. 2) The intermediate visit was assessed for health status, environment/community, village health volunteers who undertake
caregivers, nursing plan. nursing practice, nursing record and organized a campaign donation. 3) The post-visit phase used a continuation nursing
plan.
