Abstract

The quality of life and happiness are significant factors in the performance of village health volunteers in the community. This correlational research aims to explore the quality of life and happiness of village health volunteers in Pu Sang district, Phayao province. The sample group consists of 274 village health volunteers selected through stratified random sampling. The research tool utilized was a quality of life and happiness assessment questionnaire. Data analysis descriptive statistics including frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, inferential statistics including independent t-tests, and Pearson correlation coefficients. The research findings indicate that village health volunteers have an overall good quality of life (mean = 97.69, SD = 10.41, 95%CI = 96.46 - 98.93) and are as happy as the general population (mean = 30.95, SD = 5.24, 95%CI = 30.33 - 31.58). The comparison of the average scores of qualities of life, it was found that the level of education and the presence of chronic illnesses, which differ, have significantly different quality of life at a statistically significant at the .05 level. Moreover, there was a positive correlation between quality of life and happiness among the village health volunteers, also statistically significant at the .05 level. Therefore, it is essential to develop and enhance both quality of life and happiness to improve the efficiency of village health volunteers.
