การทำฟันเทียมทั้งปากในผู้ป่วยสูงอายุที่เป็นโรคข้ออักเสบรูมาตอยด์

บทคัดย่อ

ผู้ป่วยชายไทยอายุ 81 ปี มาพบทันตแพทย์เนื่องจากฟันปลอมที่เคยทำอันล่างหลวมมากต้องการทำฟันปลอมใหม่ มีโรคประจำตัวคือ ข้ออักเสบรูมาตอยด์ การวินิจฉัยคือสันเหงือกว่างที่มีกระดูกขากรรไกรสลายตัวมาก แผนการรักษาคือ ทำฟันเทียมทั้งปากบนและล่างเพียงอย่างเดียว ผลการรักษาพบว่าผู้ป่วยสามารถใส่ฟันเทียมทั้งปากได้ปกติ ไม่หลวมหรือเจ็บ เคี้ยวอาหารได้ พึงพอใจกับความสวยงามและฟันเทียมชุดนี้ รายงานผู้ป่วยรายนี้อาจใช้พิจารณาเป็นทางเลือกในการให้การรักษาที่เหมาะสมในผู้ป่วยสูงอายุที่มีสันเหงือกว่างและเป็นโรครูมาตอยด์ในรายอื่นๆ
