Abstract

The objective of this research was to obtain a hazard identification list that could assist physicians on a systematic approach to history taking, reviewing for all possible hazards in the patients’ working environments, and then identifying a hazard that is the causative agent of occupational disease. Experts at medical headquarters of the private and public hospital groups including the excellent center for occupa-tional and environmental medicine developed the list through intensive discussion and hazards were cat-egorized by their disease causal mechanism groups. A disease frame according to a notification of the ministry of labor was drawn to relate to the hazards in work conditions for a prototype. Then, its applica-bility and practicability had been tested and concluded. This list is different from the existing ones of developed countries; a hazard associated with a commuting accident due to the occupation has been signified because it was the top rank hazard caused or related to the high-burden diseases in a Thai worker group of this study.
