Abstract

                This article is intended to provide guidance on nursing care for newborns with broncho-pulmonary dysplasia (BPD). It is a prepared by studying related academic papers and direct experience in over ten years. There are certain characteristics relating to newborn patients who are unable to communicate with caegivers. Thus it is essential for neonatal specialists to percieve and understand the reactions of the patients so as to respond properly to the needs of the patients. In addition to nursing newborns based on the nursing procedure, it is important to keep in mind on some important issues. For example, the discharge plann and follow-up care should be developed with participation of a parent or guardian and the health care team in the decision-making process. Management of BPD and associated problems is a challenging issue for specialists, health team members and the parents or guardian to achieve favorable outcomes in the newborns with regard to proper growth and development, fighting the illness and preventing serious complications
