This quasi experimental study was to evaluate the behavior modification program with advi-sors to overweight government officers’ knowledge and practice on nutrition and exercise. Thesamples were 40 government officers who worked in Mu 3,4 Tambon Ban Suan, Amphoe Mueang,Chon Buri who had Body Mass Index (BMI) 25.0-34.9 kg/m.2. The duration of this study was 17weeks (February-May 2007). In a set of questionnaire, information to be collected were generalknowledge, specific knowledge and practice on nutrition and exercise. Data presented in frequency,percentage, mean, standard deviation and paired t-test was employed in the analysis.
As a result, overweight government officers who participated in a behavior modification pro-gram with advisors differed on both nutrition and exercise in the post-test relative to the pre-testwith statistical significance at p<0.001. Accordingly, their differences on pre-post BMI were alsosignificant statistically (p<0.001).
This research suggests that the behavior modification program with advisors may be an effec-tive model and can be modified or replicated in other target groups
