Abstract

        The purpose of this research was to study the relationship between job satisfaction, organizational commitment and resignation intention of staff in Samut Sakhon Hospital. It is a descriptive research. Data were collected from the sample size of 283 staff during official hours from October to December 2014; and analyzed by frequency, percentage, average (mean), standard deviation and correlation. It was found that staff in Samut Sakhon Hospital had a moderate level of job satisfaction (mean =3.35±0.47), a high
level of organizational commitment (mean=3.58±0.61) and a moderate level of resignation intention (mean=2.75±0.72). There were 206 staff (72.80%) who used to have a thought of resignation. The leading reason for resignation was dissastisfaction with the salary and welfare (62.10%), followed by the low chance to be upgraded or promoted (47.60%). The least reason for resignation was the disagreement with supervisors (3.4%). Job satisfaction was identified to have a positive association with organizational
commitment, and a low level of negative association with resignation (p-value<0.05). In addition, the organizational commitment had a low level of negative association with resignation.
