The Role of Community Nurses for Prevention of COVID–19 infection among the Elderly Living in Rural Areas of Northeastern Thailand

Abstract

            This article present the situation of COVID–19 disease, the risk of infection and its transmission to other people and control and prevention of COVID–19 infection for the elderly living in rural areas of northeastern Thailand. This article aimed to be the guideline for control and prevention of COVID–19 in the area. To control and prevention of this disease, all sectors and community members must cooperate. In which each part has different roles, but work together, including the elderly, members of the community. Those who have a role in linking up the cooperation are community nurses who play roles as the care giver, coordinator and collaborator, facilitator or change agent, teacher or supervisor, consultant, researcher and research result applicator and the manager in disease control and prevention.
