Dengue Maculopathy Presented with Dengue Foveolitis and Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy in Sakon Nakhon Hospital: a case report

Abstract

           A 30 – year Thai male present with simultaneous asymmetrical blur vision and scotoma 2 days before. His previous medical history: He admitted for 9 days before which Dengue hemorrhagic fever infection for 7 days. Two day before come to Sakon Nakhon hospital. He complained about “Blind spot” and blurring of vision, no eye pain or eye discharge. His physical examination is normal fundus. Optical Coherence Tomography represent hyperreflective band at outer plexiform layer, outer nuclear layer, external limiting membrane, ellipsoid zone but intact RPE. The presentation called acute macular neuroretinopathy. One week later new onset of foveolitis present with yellowish spot at macular. Optical Coherence Tomography represent disruption of photoreceptor and RPE. This patient was spontaneous recovery without treatment and had no evidence of recurrent nor complication.
