New Normal Lifestyles in Prevention of COVID–19 Pandemic among People in Bangkok

Abstract

           This research was a cross–sectional descriptive research aimed to investigate the personal information, new normal lifestyles in prevention of COVID–19 pandemic, social measures in pandemic prevention, pandemic effect on people, stress level of people, satisfaction to social assistance and government’s management to prevent pandemic and to study the factors related to new normal lifestyles to prevent this pandemic. The study samples were 2,750 people in Bangkok area. The research tools were the questionnaires consisted of 7 parts. Their average index of item objective congruence was 0.83 and the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of each part was more than 0.70. The general information was analyzed using the descriptive statistics. The Pearson’s correlation was applied to investigate the correlation.

          The results found that the average age of samples was 36 ± 11 years and the average monthly income was 17,075 ± 12,744 baht. The average score of new normal lifestyle in prevention of COVID–19 pandemic (X ̅ = 3.87), social measures in pandemic prevention (X ̅ = 3.98), satisfaction to social assistance and government’s management to prevent pandemic (X ̅ = 3.71) were at the high level. The average score of the impact of pandemic (X ̅ = 2.72) and social assistance (X ̅ = 3.42) were at the moderate level. The majority of samples had low level of stress (52.0%). The factors related to the new normal lifestyles to prevent COVID–19 pandemic at a significance level of 0.01 were age, monthly income, opinion level to social measures in pandemic prevention, level of pandemic effect and stress and the people satisfaction to the government’s management and social assistance.
