Quality of Life among Nursing Students in Chalermkanchana Si Sa Ket University : คุณภาพชีวิตของนักศึกษาพยาบาล มหาวิทยาลัยเฉลิมกาญจนา จังหวัดศรีสะเกษ

บทคัดย่อ

          The purpose of this study was to study the quality of life of students in faculty of nursing, Chalermkanchana Si Sa Ket University and compare the differences in the quality of life in each year of study. The sample included 200 nursing students of 1st to 4th year registered in the 2nd semester in academic year 2015. The instrument used was the WHO’s questionnaire for quality of life, Thai version (WHOQOL-BREF-THAI) composed of the question in physical, mental, social relationship and environmental aspects. The reliability determined using the Cronbach’s alpha coefficients was 0.93. The data were analyzed by the statistics; percentage, mean, standard deviation and one way ANOVA.

          The findings showed that the average score of total quality of life among nursing students was at a good level (x̄ =3.76, SD= 0.78) with the totally highest score in the first year students. When analyzed in each aspect, the first year nursing students had the highest average score in all aspects, including a good level of physical aspect (x̄ = 3.93, SD = 0.81), a very good level of mental aspect (x̄ = 4.21, SD = 0.65), a good level of social relationship aspect (x̄ = 3.97, SD = 0.83) and a good level of environment aspect (x̄ = 3.79, SD = 0.72). The average scores of total quality of life in each year of study were significant different (p = .000). The first year nursing students had significantly higher average score of physical and mental aspects than those of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students (p = .013, p = .000, p = .000, respectively and p = .005, p = .000, p = .000, respectively).
